It's Friday which means that at the stroke of 5pm, you'll hear that familiar pop! People are leaving the office and are headed to their favorite breweries for a nice, cool, and flavorful brew. Don't get us wrong, we love our coffee. But Fridays we prefer a different sort of life-giving elixir.
The Bay Area partook in the craft of the microbrew long before it was a big deal. Now it's the craze everywhere. With Wheaties Cereal announcing it's own brew for champions, we thought we would go ahead and name some of the best Bay Area beers for all you connoisseurs.
1. Pyramid: A classic Berkeley favorite, Pyramid combines a popular brew with a number of flavors. As we all know, beer is better in the place it's made. If you are tired of your corporate tier pyramid on Fridays, why not try a different kind of Pyramid.
2. 21st Amendment: If you love freedom and this constitutional clause, you'll love this famous San Francisco brewery. Located by the ball park, it's a local favorite. However, watch out! By 5pm, you'll most likely be standing outside waiting for a taste of that famous watermelon brew.
3. Speakeasy: Shhh. It's a secret. But hey, with a url name like "goodbeer.com", how can you go wrong? You don't need a password to pick up this other San Fran favorite. Bring your flappers, but do so quietly. Prohibition Ale is one of their most famous beers!
4. Linden Street: What goes together better than Bohemia and Lagers? Not much. If you are in Oakland, stop by Linden Street. Your taste buds will thank you.
This concludes Best Bay Brews. If you can grab a beer after work, go ahead and do so. You know after the kid's first hectic week back at school, you can use it!
